Kochi

Fort Kochi is an entire region in the city of Kochi where you can find many attractions to visit including the Parade Ground, Kochi Walkway, St. Francis Church, Steam Boilers and others.

The Mattancherry Palace is a Portuguese palace popularly known as the Dutch Palace, in Mattancherry, Kochi, which features Kerala murals depicting portraits and exhibits of the Rajas of Kochi.

Cherai Beach is located in Cherai, a suburb of Kochi. One of the most visited beaches in the state; it is situated at around 25 km from downtown Kochi and 20 km from Cochin International Airport. It is a beautiful pristine beach which is not much crowded.

Adjacent to Mattancherry Palace temple, Paradesi Synagogue is a complex of four buildings and has separate seating sections for men and women. The synagogue is open for a fee to visitors as a historic attraction.  The Synagogue house the Scrolls of the Law, gold crowns, beautiful Belgian glass chandeliers and brass-railed pulpit.

The Island is the largest artificial Island in India. The Island is man-made Island formed by dredging soild around a previously existing natural Island which was relatively tinier than the present one. Kochi is home to Central Institute of Fisheries Technology.

Like in Mumbai, Kochi also houses the famous Marine Drive which is a striking promenade. The huge walk way faces the backwaters and serves as a social meeting point for the locals and tourists of Kochi. Ironic to its name, no vehicles are allowed on the walkway.

The bird century nestles a huge variety of migratory birds and is a home to mangroves. It is an ecologically balanced area located in the centre of the city while helping in keeping the city’s sir pollution under check. It is spread across 2.74 hectares.

St.Cruz Cathedral Basilica is situated at Fort Kochi and is one of the eight Basilicas in Kerala. St.Cruz is heritage site in Kerala and built in most finesse and impressive style. It is a place of devotion as well as a center of historic significance, endowed with architectural and artistic grandeur and colours of the gothic style.

Vembanad Lake is a famous attraction in Allepey and it is the longest Lake in India and largest in Kerala. Spanning several districts in the state of Kerala, it is known as vembanadu Lake in Kottayam Punnamada Lake in Kuttanad, Kochi Lake in Kochi.
