Chamba

Famous for its distinct green roof, Chandi Palace was built between 1747 to 1765b by Raja Umed Singh. Later Britishers took interest in renovating the palace that was already designed intricately. Painted walls, glass work and intricate woodwork are some of the distinct features that make it absolutely exquisite.

Champavati Temple is a beautiful temple built in the Shikhara style with intricate stone carvings. It was built by the first king of Chambad Raja Sahil Varman in the memory of his daughter. The temple is located in the heart of the city and is also a huge pilgrimage destination for many devotees. However, if you aren’t among those god believers, it is a worth visit for its unparallel architecture.

It is not a single temple; Lakshmi Narayan is a complex of many small temples built in 10^th century again by Raja Sahil Varman. The roof of the temple is adorned by gold plated pinnacles by Raja Chattra Singh who defeated Aurangzeb in 10^th century. The temple is devoted to Vaishnav sect of Hindu culture and is a famous pilgrim spot for the followers of Vaishnavs.

One of the most important tourist attractions in the town, BhurI Singh Museum was built in September 1908. The museum is famous for collecting preserving the scattered cultural heritage of Chamba state. It got the name from Raja Bhuri Singh who had gifted inherited art collection to the museum and Dr. J.Ph. Vogel imparted his invaluable services for setting up this museum

Manimahesh Lake is an enchanting secluded lake situated at an altitude of 4,080 meters above sea level.  The lake is situated near the Manimahesh Kailash Peak in the Pir Panjal ranges of Himalyas.

The famous Temple rests amidst the beautiful spur at an altitude of 3800 feet at a place called Bhalei. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Kali and is a major destination for many pilgrims. The temple is worth visiting for its supreme serene location and architecture so astounding.

A 1000 years old temple is dedicated to the goddess of lightening located in the heart of Chamba. The temple has been built beautifully with intricate carvings and delicate masonry.

William Ferguson,the church displays the fine stone architecture of those times.  The Scottish architecture of fine bricks, austere walls, and ornamental foundation is displayed with utmost grace in this Church.
