Yarab Tso Lake

Location: Nubra Valley, Ladakh, India

Region’s best kept secret location is Yarab Tso Lake that is a small pristine Lake surrounded by arid mountains making it appear like an oasis in the desert. The Lake is located at a high altitude hidden in the Sumur Village and can only be reached by trekking. Though it is possible to reach this holy lake by foot from Panamik Village, tourists are asked not to wash or swim in the water of this lake. Yarab Tso is highly revered by the locals and one can also see the colourful flags fluttering around its crystal clear water.

Diskit Monastery

Location: Nubra Valley, Ladakh, India

At an altitude of 3,142 meters, Dikshit Monastery is situated amidst the stark and barren Nubra Valley stands the beautiful whitewashed monastery. An iconic feature of the monastery is the statue of Cho Rinpoche (Crowned Buddha), which is a part of the prayer hall. Within the prayer hall, there are big drums and various images of the guardian deities.

Samstanling Monastery

Location: Nubra Valley, Ladakh, India

Samstalling Monastery is jem in the village Summur in Nubra Valley. The monastery is a tinge of yellow to it and looks all splendid in the vibrant yello, red and white colours. Colourful prayer flags fly across the monastery keeping all evils away from the beautiful monastery.

Maitreya Buddha

Location: Nubra Valley, Ladakh, India

Khardung La Pass

Location: Nubra Valley, Ladakh, India

The highest pass and highest motorable road in the world-Khardung La is pass which mesmerize you with its unspoiled beauty and majesty. Acting as a gateway to Nubra Valley, the pass is evident sinc world war II when it served as a route to send raw material to China from India on Camel hunks. And also, this pass is used for transferring supplies to Siachen Glacier to the Indian army.

The region has cold semi arid climate that ranges between 7°C - 30°C in summers, and between -20°C - 12°C in Monsoons from the month of October and May.

How to Reach

By Air

You can take a flight to Kushok Bakula Airport in Leh from Delhi. It is around 2-3 hours flight from Delhi. On landing you can hire a cab to reach the different attractions around Nubra Valley

By Train

You can both board a train till Delhi or Chandigarh and there on hire a taxi to reach Ladakh by road.

By Road

Ladakh is connected by road from two sides- Manali-Leh highway and Srinagar- Kargil highway. You can choose any of the two routes to reach Nubra Valley via Khardung La pass
