Jantar Mantar

Location: New Delhi, India

Jantar Mantar is a major tourist attraction in Delhi built in 18th century by Maharaj Jai Singh II. Jantar Mantar is an astronomical observation site that includes a set of around 20 fixed astronomical instruments. The whole site was designed for the observation of astronomical positions with the naked eye. Jantar Mantar is the best preserved India’s historic observatory. The whole setup boasts the intelligence and astronomical skills and cosmological concepts of the court of a scholarly prince at the end of the Mughal period.
