North Goa
Famous for hosting a huge tourist’s influx every year, North Goa is always crowded with visitors from around the world. This part of Goa is famous for buoyant nightlife, trance parties, awesome food, flea markets and yoga retreats. For those who love to be a part of bustling cities, this one’s for you. Framed by two great rivers- Madovi River in the south and Terekhol River in the north, North Goa has a 35 km of beach area in between. Baga Beach is the most famous beach in North Goa because of its happening crowd, humming life, parties, cafes, and people. Calangute is another famous beach in the area and almost equal to the famous Baga Beach in popularity. Anjuna Beach is famous for its Wednesday flea market where you can shop around and experience the cool hippy vibes around. In the far north, Arambol is a popular paragliding centre and budget traveler enclave with cheap clifftop accommodation.
South Goa
Unlike North Goa which is much crowded and famous for hosting rave parties, South Goa is much serene and secluded. To the south, the long stretches of unspoiled sands and oceans are there to escape from the bustle of the city. Forts, Catholic Churches, Villages, temples, and wildlife add to the travel wanders of the Goa. There is nothing that you can’t find here and so it is a best vacation place in India.
South Goa is beautiful and scenic district in the south of Goa and is famous for 400 year olds city Vasco De Gama that houses many colonial monuments, statues, and is much more famous for housing many English music bands. The heritage monuments and the gothic architecture of Lord’s house is one of the major attractions in here in Vasco De Gama.
Like North Goa, South Goa also houses many exotic beaches. The most famous and visited Beach in South Goa is the Agonda beach that is famously known for nesting turtles under the Coastal Regulation Zone notification. So, if you spot a turtle or two here at the beach don’t be surprised and just enjoy their company.
How to Reach
By Air
The nearest Airport is Dabolim Airport from where Andola is 35 km away from the Capital city. From there you can hire a cab to reach your destination.
By Train
The two major railheads in Goa are Madgaon and Thivim, which are well connected by trains from all over the country. You can hire a cab to reach Aldona from there.
By Road
There are a number of public as well as private bus operators in Goa, which offer options for intra-city and inter-city conveyance. You can also book a taxi to reach Aldona by Road.
