Gangtok: It is the capital city of the Sikkim and is a famous hill station. It is a Buddhist pilgrimage centre. The spiritual monasteries like Rumtek monastery and Enchey monastery enhance the significance of this place. This is the best place for doing adventurous things like river rafting, camping, hiking, mountaineering and Paragliding etc. The Yak ride and ropeway of the Gangtok are also very enjoyable. The mesmerizing white ranges of mountains, Jhakri falls and Kyongnosla waterfalls lures the heart.

Lachung: Lachung is a small beautiful town of the Gangtok which is surrounded by the allured mountains covered with ice. In the excursion of the Lachung beside the river Teesta makes the journey more excited. The elegant waterfalls, pine forests and the winsome orchards of the apple makes this place more beautiful. This place is covered with snow during the winters.

Lachen: Lachen is a small town of the Sikkim nestled in the Himalayas. This is the perfect destination for doing adventurous things like rafting and trekking. Chopta valley, Gurudongmar lake and Muguthang are the famous destinations of this place. Thangu valley and Lachen monastery are also the renowned places of this area. There are many panoramic things which you can explore while sightseeing of the Lachen.

Yamthung Valley: A mesmerising place which is highly elevated on the mountain and sprawling carpet of the colourful flowers which spellbind every heart. On the banks of the beautiful Teesta river you can enjoy your holiday or outing. The time when the flowers blossom and the valley fills with aroma. The charming meadows beside the river Teesta makes this place more attractive. You can also enjoy the yak ride over here.

Tsomgo Lake: Tsomgo lake which is also named as Changu lake is the highest lake in India. The lake remains frozen throughout the complete year and during summer, it brings an adorable charm to its beauty. The turquoise water of the lake beside the ice capped mountains looks very beautiful. The exquisite view of this lake makes it more beautiful and fascinating.

Pelling: Pelling is a beautiful destination nestled amidst of the Himalayas and serene valleys. After the Gangtok this is the most visited place by the tourists. The picturesque view of the lakes, waterfalls and green valleys makes this place more beautiful. Khangchendzongha waterfalls, khecheopalri Lake, Rimbi water falls and Pemayangtse Monastery are the well known destinations of this area.

Nathu La Pass: Nathula La Pass is the border area of the India and China and was also the main route of the silk route trade in the past. Visitors can visit it with permission of tourism. Both the soldiers of  China and India are giving their duties beside the fencing border of the pass.

Weather in Sikkim

Sikkim has alpine, tropical and temperate climatic conditions due to its variation in the geographical features. However, the climatic conditions vary from the region to region but from March to June and September to December this is favourable for the excursions. During the winter the place offers best adventurous sports like trekking, rafting and paragliding.

Favourable time to visit

Sikkim has panoramic view which glorifies its extreme beauty. Throughout  the year people often can come in the season of March to June and September to December. Due to the harsh climatic conditions in the month of the January and February it is not preffered for the tourism.During the harsh winter the Sikkim is covered with snow and some lakes of the Sikkim get frozen. Areas also get struck and becomes unfavourable for travelling.

How to Reach

By Air: For reaching the Sikkim the nearest airport is Bagdogra Airport which connects with the major airports of the India. From Bagdogra Airport you can reach to Gangtok. But these flights might not be functional according to the atmospheric conditions.

By Train: The major railway stations like Siliguri and New Jalpaiguri of Gangtok are well connected with the major cities of the India. So, the tourists can come there very comfortably. After this tourists can board a taxi or a bus according to them.

By Road: There are many private and government buses which are functional day and night in the Sikkim. To reach Sikkim you can take the bus of the Sikkim and after reaching Sikkim you can explore different parts of the Sikkim through the buses. National Highway 31 A is the most preferable highway which is functional all the time. So there is no problem in reaching the awesome destinations of Sikkim.
