A snow desert spread till where the eyes go, Leh is a majestic land where earth seems to be meeting to heaven. The beauty is no less than a heaven you would have imagined.
Not only this, many famous climbers visit Leh for mountain climbing that adds to the love of adventurers. The Nun Kun Massif, the Stok Kangri Massif and the mountains of Karakoram Ranges inspire many adventurists to give try to knuckle-gripping mountain climbing expeditions in Ladakh. Besides, home to the highest motorable road in the world, Leh attracts a huge number of biking enthusiasts and it is a dream of many bikers to ride through this pass.
Apart from being an adventurous site in world, Ladakh is home to severa; Buddhist Monasteries that serve as the pilgrimage site for many Buddhists. Many remote villages and locations house grand stupas and monasteries here in the blissful lands of Ladakh. The monasteries which are also known as Gompas in Ladakh are best seen in the Leh district.
Day 1: Delhi- Leh
As you see the city from the top in the sky from your plane window, it seems extremely enchanting. However, when you land in the town it is even more enthralling and breathtakingly beautiful. As you land in leh. Get ready to be greeted by our cordial representative at the Airport and get transferred to the hotel. It is advised to stay intact and get adapted to the low oxygen rates in the air. In the evening around 4:30 pm visit the Shanti Stupa, the Chowkhang monastery and local market in Leh. Stay overnight at the hotel and stay comfortably.
Day 2: Leh Indus Valley Tour
Begin your day with a refreshing sunrise that sparkles on the land of Ladakh. Visit on a full day excursion to the Indus Valley Monasteries. At first visit the Royal Palace at Stok Palace, Thiksey, Stagna and Changchubling and Hemis Monasteries. The 90 km round trip will be covered in about 7-8 hours. Return to the hotel and for an overnight stay.
Day 3: Leh - Nubra Valley (Valley of Flowers)
The famous Nubra Valley or the Valley of flowers is a magnificent Valley with widespread flowers growing across the valley. Drive towards the Nubra Valley which is 125 km distance which can be covered in 4 to 5 hours. Drive via world famous Khardungla Pass nestled at an altitude of 18360 feet.
At the Nubra Valley, visit silver sand dunes near Hunder village. It is also known as the oasis in the desert. Also enjoy a double humped Camel safari in the unique cold desert. Visit the Diskit village which houses a famous monastery of the same name. Stay overnight in the tented accommodation at Nubra Valley.
Day 4: Nubra Valley – Leh
On day 4, wake up to the serene valley of Nubra and further in the day to Leh. On the way visit the Yarabtso Lake near Panamik village. Further continue your drive to Leh which can be completed o 4 to 5 hours via Khardung La pass. Evening is free of activities. Explore the Leh market. Relish some appetizing delights of the unique region. Stay at the hotel overnight and enjoy your stay here.
Day 5: Leh - Pangong Lake
On day 5th of your magical tour, visit the majestic Lake of Pangong which is 135 kms from Leh. Later proceed to Ladakh. On the way across the Changla Pass located at 17,500 feet. En-route you come across Durbuk and Tangtse villages in the Changthang region of Ladakh. Located at an altitude of 4000 meters, visit this mesmerizing Lake and considered world’s highest salt water Lakes. The Lake is also known to change colour four times in a day. Stay overnight at the camp near the Lake.
Day 6: Pangong - Tsomoriri Lake
On day 6 of this splendid tour, drive towards Tsomoriri Lake which is around 240 kms from Pangong Lake and take around 10 hours drive to reach there. Drive up to Kharu and then up to the sweet water Tso-Moriri Lake nestled at 4200m. On the way visit Chumathang Hot springs. Cross Mahe Bridge and then drive towards Tsomoriri Lake. On the way you can see Himalayan marmots. It is also a popular breeding and nesting area for thousands of migratory birds. There you can also see Brahimini Duck, Bar-headed goose and black naked cranes etc. Arrive Tsomoriri Lake by evening and stay at a tented accommodation for an overnight stay.
Day 7: Tso Moriri Lake - Toskar Lake - Leh
On day 7, drive back to the Leh district via Tsokar Lake. On the way, halt to visit Puga Geo-Thermal Gas Springs, visiting the nomadic Rebo tens at at Polo-kongka pass, and further after the pass, stop by Tsokar Lake - a wetland area. Upon arrival, check into the hotel and stay overnight.
Day 8: Stok – Uleytokpo
8th day of the tour is booked for visting Ulley Resort from Leh. On the way halt to visit the great statue of Maitreya Buddha in the Likir monastery and the 1000 -year old murals of Alchi monastery, listed among the best Buddhist miniature paintings. Continue your road journey to reach Uley. Upon arrival, check-in to the resort/hotel to stay overnight.
Day 9: Uleytokpo
Post breakfast, start your excursion to visit Lunar landscapes, Lamayuru Monastery & Rizong Nunnery. You can also enjoy a day hike to Rizong village which takes 2-3 hours or a short Hike to Gera-Lardo village across Indus River. Stay overnight t Uleytokpo.
Day 10: Uleytokpo - Leh
Start the day with delicious breakfast and drive back to Leh around 70 km a 2-3 hour trip. En-route visit Spituk Monastery, Magnetic Hill and the Military Hall of Fame. Afternoon is free at leisure. Visit Leh's famous Moti market, Nowshare market, Balkhang chowk apricot vendors and Super Market. Stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 11: Leh - Delhi
Today take a transfer to airport to board flight from Leh Airport.
