Nowhere in the world, could you witness such widespread valleys at this height. At an elevation of 3000 meters above mean sea level, Leh is fascinating region with erratic weather and defying living conditions. Nature is blissful and hard at the same time in this particular region of Jammu and Kashmir. Kargil district of Leh-Ladakh had been a disputed area ever since India and Pakistan was divided.  The infamous Kargil war was fought on Drass region of Kargil which is the second coldest inhabited place on earth standing at a massive elevation of 10, 990 feet. Being the coldest region and a major war between India and Pakistan, the region does not fail to mesmerize you with its beauty. It is indeed blessed with stunning scenic beauty which can enthrall every traveler’s heart and soul in just a matter of few seconds.

Well, infamous for the 1999 Kargil War, Drass has a lot to more to offer than just being a check point between two countries. A nature lover or a wildlife fanatic, this is a place visited by major soul seekers. Making memories and taking along a piece of Leh with yourself is not very surprising as this place leaves you stunned with its majesty, magic and charm. Well, when it comes to praising the beauty of this region, we often fall short of words. One of a kind place in the world, Leh is a gateway to heaven even though we haven’t seen one.

Not to unambiguously mention, Drass also finds serves as the pilgrimage place for many Muslim and Hindu spirituality enthusiasts. ‘Ningoor Masjid’, a revered Muslim pilgrimage site located 7 km. off the main Drass village lures uncountable devotees every year who specially travel here to pay their respect to Allah and seek his blessings.

Itinerary

Day 1: Delhi - Leh

As you land in Kushok Bakula airport in Leh, located at an altitude of 3500 meters, our tour representative will be there waiting for you to assist you to your hotel. Check in to the hotel and catch a breath which is a little difficult to do however in this region. Get acclimatized to the higher altitudes of Ladakh and enjoy the enchanting views.

Day 2: Leh - Lower Indus Valley - Leh

Day 2 of your Ladakh tour is booked for exploring the lower Indus Valley. So, start driving towards Indus Valley in the morning while enjoying the view of enthralling Magnetic Hill of the region that creates an optical illusion as you pass through it. Continue your drive alongside these Himalayan wonders and reach the beautiful Nimu Valley. The Valley is famous for providing rafting in Indus River for its visitors but only the weather permits.Next halt is at Pathar Sahib Gurudwara. Located on Leh-Nimu road, it was built in for remembering the visit of Guru Nanak, the founder of Sikh religion to the area. Treat your eyes to the wonderful views of the Indus valley, which also offers adventure opportunities. Later in the evening return to Leh hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 3: Leh - Nubra Valley

The famous Nubra Valley awaits you on day fifth of your tour. Most exciting and thrilling day of the tour will take you through Khardungla Pass, the highest motorable road in the world.  When you arrive in the Valley, check into the hotel or stay at a tented accommodation to unwind for a while. Later, set out to explore the sand dunes of Nubra while enjoying the Camel Safari at a cold desert. Post that, visit the world renowned Diskit Monastery, which houses a 100 ft tall Maitreya Buddha statue. After all the sightseeing, return to your hotel/camp and spend the night at leisure.

Day4: Nubra - Leh

On day 4th of your exciting tour, visit the famous Samstanling Monastery first in the morning. Later, set out to on a journey back to Leh. Halt on the way for savoring delicious lunch on the way. Upon arrival at Leh in the evening, check into the same hotel and spend rest of the evening relaxing or by indulging in leisure activities. Savor the dinner at the local market or at the hotel as per your mood, return back to the hotel and stay overnight.

Day 5: Leh - Pangong Lake

So, it’s finally day 7 when you are going to witness the memerizing Pangong Lake. The lake is situated at a distance of 135 kms from the main city. On your journey to Pangong Lake, you will cross the famous Changla Pass which is located at an altitude of 17,500 feet. . On your way to Pangong, you would be crossing Durbuk and Tangtse village. By afternoon, you would be reaching one of the most wonderful lakes of India, the Pangong Lake. Don’t be surprised by the nature’s bliss on this Lake as it looks no less than a movie set up on an unreal location. In the evening, visit the local nomadic village to stay overnight.

Day 6: Pangong Lake - Leh

On this day, you will drive back to Leh while enjoying the scenic drive passing via many enthralling mountain passes. Witnessing the amazing sunrise on the magical Lake is once in a lifetime experience and you cannot miss it. Drive back to Leh after that and upon arrival, check into the hotel for an overnight stay.

This would possibly be the last day of our Amazing Ladakh Tour with Pangong . Start your day fresh by witnessing the scenic Pangong Lake getting illuminated by the early morning rays of the sun. Post breakfast, drive back to Leh. On reaching Leh, explore the local market and check in to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 7: Leh (Visit to Monasteries)

On day 7th of this scintillating tour to Ladakh, get ready to explore the spiritual side of the city. Visit Thiksey Monastery, the largest Monastery in central Ladakh, next visit the very popular Hemis Monastery which is the largest and wealthiest monastery in Leh. Later visit the the Spituk Monastery that dates back to 11th century and is situated on hill top and offers breathtaking views of the valley.Next is Shey monastery which is an another masterpiece in Leh region. Huge copper and gilded gold statue of seated Shakyamuni Buddha resides here in this wonderful Monastery. In the last you wil be visiting Stakna monastery, belonging to Drugpa Buddhist sect and is a home to around 30 monks.

Later in the evening return to Leh for an overnight stay.

Day 8: Departure from Leh - Delhi

On the last day bid adieu to the splendid region of the Jammu and Kashmir and get an assisted transferred to the Leh airport for boarding your flight for Delhi.
