When you begin your trip from Manali, you won’t find the flawless straight roads unless you enter the gateway to Ladakh.

Serpentine roads, high passes, erratic weather, rugged landscape and other such things could take a toll on you once you begin your ride to Ladakh. However, this all would seem small and miniature in front of majestic Himalayas, massive rivers, widespread meadows and superbly scenic view on the way. And when you touch those never ending unblemished roads in the state of Jammu and Kashmir to reach Ladakh, there’s no looking back.

Riding the bike on highest motorable road in the world, Khardungla Pass would be an unforgettable experience that you can have only when you are on a bike.  Infact, some of the places in the region are yet virgin of any vehicle expedition and so you could become one to make those places hear your roaring bikes engines. The bike trip to Ladakh is something like living life on the edge and making it extravagantly large. You won’t stop but boast about this trip once you are back among your loved ones.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Manali (By bus)

With the spirits of a biker when you arrive in Manali, you’ll be assisted by our representative to your hotel. Check in the hotel and relax while speculating how your bike trip to Ladakh is going to be. Begin your bike tour from here itself; discover the magic of Kullu Valley and Manali on bike while riding alongside the roaring Beas River. Roads are tricky so be careful when you ride. Explore the city, enjoy the evening and return to hotel for gathering your energies for a long ride the next day.

Day 2: Manali - Jispa (150 km)

Day 2 marks your official journey on the bike to Ladakh. Wake up and start driving towards Jispa today via Rohtan Pass situated at an altitude of 3798 meters above from mean sea level. The challenging roads on this pass increases your adrenaline rush and make the trip more thrilling and exciting. As you drive further amidst the majestic Himalayas, you will drive via Lahaul Valley and finally you will reach Jispa after a long ride since morning. Savor mountain dinner comprising of hot momos and Thupka, a special traditional Himalayan soup, made from vegetables and meat. Stay here for the night.

Day 3: Jispa - Sarchu (120 km)

It’s time to continue your journey to the amazing Ladakh from Jispa. Begin your bike ride towards Sarchu, border village situated on the border of Himachal and Kashmir. As you ride towards Sarchu via Baralaccha Pass situated at an altitude of 5000 meters above sea level. The Himalayan Mountain gets even majestic and bigger when you ride towards Sarchu. Upon arrival, set a camp and stay in the tents for the night admiring the clear skies with a million of stars. But, before get acclimatized with the elevation by various tips and tricks like drinking a lot of fluids.

Day 4: Sarchu - Leh (215 km)

So, the challenge begins here on day 4 of your bike trip. The journey today is going to be a challenging as you are going to ride your bike via flatlands and entering into mountainous range horizon. Today you will also cross the highest mountain pass, Tanglang-La Pass which is situated at a massive altitude of 5300 meters. On the way, visit Thiksey and Shey Monasteries to take a break from a long journey. As you arrive on the borders of Changspa, check into a hotel and stay overnight here.

Day 5: Khardungla Pass (Leh)

This day, you give break to your bikes after visiting the famous and highest motorable road at Khardungla Pass situated at an altitude of 18,360 feet above mean sea level. Leave your bikes parked at the hotel and explore the town of Leh on foot. It is beautiful scenic village with mix of Buddhist and Muslim population. Savor upon the local delicacies of the village and enjoy the food. Plan a memorable evening at any of the garden restaurants. Return to the hotel and stay overnight.

Day 6: Leh - Pangong Lake (149 km)

This day will leave mesmerized when you will witness the salt water Lake at an altitude of 4,350 meters.  It is the largest brackish lake in Asia and sprawls in India as well as China. The surroundings of the lake are serene and spiritual. The lake water changes its colors around 4 to 5 times in a day. Later, continue your drive and cross Chang La. Keep driving till the army checkpoint of Tangse. The journey ends here. Check-in at a resort.

Day 7: Pangong - Leh (149 km)

On this day, you will drive back to Leh while enjoying the scenic drive passing via many enthralling mountain passes. Witnessing the amazing sunrise on the magical Lake is once in a lifetime experience and you cannot miss it. Drive back to Leh after that and upon arrival, check into the hotel for an overnight stay.

This would possibly be the last day of our Amazing Ladakh Tour with Pangong . Start your day fresh by witnessing the scenic Pangong lake getting illuminated by the early morning rays of the sun. Post breakfast, drive back to Leh. On reaching Leh, explore the local market and check in to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 8: Leh - Sarchu (215 km)

So, the trip has come to an end without evening getting over the spectacular views and mesmerizing landscapes. Drive back to Sarchu today on the same roads from where you reached Leh.  Upon arrival at Sarchu after a long drive, settle in the tented accommodation and rest for the day.

Day 9: Sarchu - Manali (215 km)

On day 9 of the tour, ride your bike through the plains of Sarchu and till noon, you would arrive at the Baralaccha plains. Now continue the comfortable journey through smooth rides up to the Lahaul ranges. Arrive at Rohtang pass on which you have to drive carefully. In the night you will reach Manali and on arrival check in to the hotel and rest for the night.

Day 10: Manali (Departure)

Today is the last of the bike tour. Depart for your home destinations.
