Rajasthan is famous for its cultural festivals and desert safaris. Home to massive Thar Desert, Rajasthan is popular for desert Safaris in the desert cities of Jodhpur and Jaisalmer that houses many traditional festivals. The city of Jodhpur is also known as the blue city due to its painted building in city’s iconic blue shade. If observed from the top of Mehrangarh Fort, the city appears blue and beautiful. Jodhpur city is known to house the famous Mehrangarh Fort, the largest Fort in India. Mehrangarh Museum is well stocked with old royal remains like gilt Mahadol palanquin, rare historical weapons, royal costumes, painting and decorating pieces.

Jaisalmer on the other hand is famous for being the medieval trading center located in the heart of Thar Desert. Similar to other cities of Rajasthan, Jaisalmer is also famous with the name of "Golden City," due to its yellow sandstone architecture. Dominating the skyline is Jaisalmer Fort, a rambling hilltop castle bolstered by 99 bastions. Behind its massive walls stand the ornate Maharaja's Palace and intricately carved Jain temples. Every year Jaisalmer hosts an annual desert festival wherein people come from around the state to participate in various programs for also for trade purposes. Since the city has been the center of trade in medieval period, the festival offers the contemporary era’s market place for many traders. Visiting the city during this period is extremely enthralling as you get the first hand experience of the culture and tradition of this city.

Itinerary

Day 1: Delhi

As you land at Delhi Airport or at Delhi Railway Station, our representative will be there already to escort you. We make sure to offer the best services by providing you our best person for your journey. You will be driven to the hotel after checking in to the hotel, get ready to go on a tour of the city beginning with seeking blessings from revered Laxmi Narayan Temple. After paying homage at Temple, advance to India Gate, then to Parliament House, Rashtrapati Bhawan and Jama Masjid, India’s largest Mosque, Qutub Minar, Purana Quila, Humyun’s Tomb and Jantar Mantar observatory. Visit Red Fort, a historical monument where you can witness vibrant Sound and Light show.

Day 2: Delhi – Jodhpur

On this day, you will be transferred to the Airport to board a flight to Jodhpur. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to the hotel from where you will embark upon the local tour of the city beginning with a visit to Mehrangarh fort, Umaid Bhavan Palace, Jaswant Thada and Raj Ka Bagh Palace. In evening, visit the beautiful Umed Garden and enjoy the walk around the city. Return back to the hotel and stay overnight.

Day 3: Jodhpur - Jaisalmer

On day 3 of your tour, you will be driving towards Jaisalamer where you will reach after a 6 hour drive. Upon arrival check into the hotel and unwind for a while. Later in the day, proceed to visit the glorious Jaisalmer Fort and the Royal Cenotaphs. This evening, you can go to visit the Desert Festival venue. Enjoy the visit in the festival while indulging in different activities. Return to the hotel and enjoy your overnight stay there.

Day 4: Jaisalmer

Early morning, you can attend the Mangal aarti at the Gadsisar Lake. Later, enjoy participating and contributing to your team's win in a Tug of War game- Indians Vs Foreigners. Both men and women participate in this game. Later, test your balancing skills by participating in the Matka race competition. You may also indulge in the games like camel decoration and the camel polo that is sure to leave you amused to the fullest. Later return to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 5: Jaisalmer

On day 5, go for a local sightseeing tour to Jaisalmer. Visit the famous Jain Temples, Bada Bagh, Folklore Museum and the Amar Sagar Lake here. Also visit Salim ji Ki Haveli and Nathmal ki Haveli, which are most striking amongst the other havelis.  In the evening drive towards Sam Sand Dunes where the desert festival ends after a long night cultural show. After witnessing the royal show of the festivl, return back to the hotel and enjoy your overnight stay.

Day 6: Jaisalmer Jodhpur - Delhi

In the morning, after breakfast drive to Jodhpur airport to board afternoon flight to Delhi. On reaching Delhi airport, board another flight for onward journey.
