Mewar region of Rajasthan also popularly known as Udaipur in contemporary India had been quite prominent in the history with Akbar being its ruler for years. However, after Maharan Pratap recaptured the region, it remained under the Mughal rule for 150 years. Since the region of Mewar came under Indian Union, it’s been ruled by the Mori, Guhilot and Sisodia dynasties. The glimpses of vast and rich history of the region can be witnessed even today in the form of Forts, Palaces and other Rajputana complexes. Mewar region had always been most desirable by the emperors of India due to its unique terrain and abundance of natural resources. Even today, this area marks the most important boundary of Rajasthan state and is one of the most beautiful tourist places in the state.
The Mewar region is a combination of elevated plateau on end while rocky and hilly regions with dense forests on the other. The unique geographical terrain of the region makes it desirable and attractive for tourists to visit. The terrain also makes the region rich in sedimentary rocks like marble and Kota stone that make the region even more important from the construction point of view. Not only this, the Mewar is also a home to Jaisamand Wldlife Sanctuary, Kumbhalgarh wildlife sanctuary and Bassi Wildlife Sanctuary and Sita Mata Wildlife Sanctuary that makes it even more alluring for onlookers who like to explore the wilderness.
Day 1: Arrival in Jaipur
Upon arrival in Jaipur, our tour representative will meet you at Railway station/airport and drive you to the hotel. Check into the hotel and freshen up to explore the city. Visit City Palace, the residence of Maharaja of Jaipur during 15th century, later visit Hawa Mahal, the iconic Palace of Jaipur that was built for royal women, and Jantar Mantar, an observatory. Return back to the hotel and stay overnight.
Day 2: Jaipur
This morning, visit Amer Fort, the huge complex of massive halls and gardens. Some of the highlights of the fort are Diwan-i-aam and Sheesh Mahal). In order to reach Amber Fort you can opt for an elephant ride as well.In the evening, return to the hotel and spend the rest of the time by shopping or dining at the local area. Later, you stay overnight in the hotel room.
Day 3: Jaipur- Chittorgarh
On day 3, begin your drive towards Chittorgarh. On arrival, check into hotel, relax, unwind and get ready to explore the town. First, visit Chittorgarh Fort along with various Palaces like Padmini palace and the Rana Kumbha palace, numerous gates-Hanuman Pol, Ganesh Pol and the Laxman Pol, and various towers like Vijay Stambh and the Kirti Stambh and shrines inside. Vijay Stambh is a nine storied structure constructed in Rajputana style with intricate carvings and designs. After taking a round of all this prominent places, return back to the hotel and stay overnight.
Day 4: Chittorgarh- Udaipur
On day 4, you will proceed further towards Udaipur, the capital of Mewar region. After a 3 hour long drive as you the city, check into the hotel and unwind for a while to explore the town later. The blissful town is a beautiful town surrounded by immaculate lakes making the city one of the most beautiful in the state. On your sightseeing tour at first visit Saheliyon-Ki-Bari, a rambling garden adorned with fountains, pools and elephant statues made of marble, Gulabh Bagh, adore the variety of roses,also visit the museum and the Zoo inside the Bagh and indulge in boat ride at Lake Pichola. Return back to the hotel room for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5: Udaipur- Mt. Abu
This day you will be proceeding towards the only hill station in the state-Mt.Abu. Before leaving for Mt.Abu, visit the City Palace and the Crystal Gallery in Udaipur. Drive towards Mt.Abu, upon arrival and check into the hotel and stay overnight.
Day 6: Mt.Abu
Explore the only hill station of Rajasthan on this day acts as an oasis in the harsh desert. The town houses the famous Jain Temple where devotees come from across the country every year. Also the hill station is home to wildlife sanctuaries and Lakes. On your local sightseeing tour, visit most popular Dilwara Jain temple,carved with intricate marble stone crafts, Brahmakumari Spiritual Ashram, pristine Nakki Lake, appreciate the wonderful view of sunset at Sunset View point and familiarize yourself with the culture and the tradition of Mt. Abu at Honeymoon view point. Return to the hotel and stay overnight.
Day 7: Mt. Abu- Abu train station/ Udaipur airport
Day 7 of your trip marks the end of your delightful tour to Mewar Region of Rajasthan. You will be driven back to Udaipur Airport /train station so that you can board your flight onward to home.
